The elements for this campaign work together to catch a wide audience by catering to different communication preferences. Using materials and platforms that appeal to the eco-friendly helps ensure this campaign will reach those with an affinity for the promoted cause. Direct mail still raises significant funds for non-profits like Ducks Unlimited Canada. The effort to move donors online must include direct mail that relates to materials shared across digital and out of home platforms.
Encourage prospective supporters of Ducks Unlimited Canada to do their part to save the bees. The three main calls to action will be:
• plant a pollinator garden, starting with the seed paper the insert is printed on
• buy honey from local, ethical beekeepers partnered with Ducks Unlimited Canada
• donate to Ducks Unlimited online at ducks.ca
Note: Due to Ducks Unlimited being an environmental organization, the goal is to drive more giving to online channels. For that reason, the mail component foregoes the typical approach of including a coupon and business reply envelope, to cut back on paper use and to build up online giving.
